Why ongoing care matters
A water softener is a machine. It has a moving valve, a motor, seals, a clock and a tank of salt that slowly runs down. Filters fill up. UV lamps fade long before they go dark.
Most of this is routine, and a yearly check-up keeps it that way. A worn seal or a setting that drifted after a power outage is a quick fix when caught early. Left alone, it shows up as hard water, wasted salt or a puddle in the garage.
So we test first, install it right, and keep an eye on your system for as long as you own it.
What we offer
Ways we look after your system
Pick what you need. Several of these can happen on the same visit.
Annual service
A yearly visit. We retest your water, check your system, flush your water heater and inspect your plumbing. On systems we install, it also keeps the limited lifetime warranty active.
See what we checkSalt refills
Most homes add salt every 4 to 6 months. Text us and we'll swing by.
How salt refills workUV lamp changes and disinfection
A fresh lamp and clean quartz sleeve every year, plus well shock chlorination when a well needs it.

Cartridge filters, reverse osmosis prefilters and membranes, swapped and checked for drips.
About drinking water systemsWater retesting
Water changes over time, especially on a well. A retest shows whether your system still fits.

Contact usFilters and membranes
Filter and reverse osmosis membrane changes
Cartridge filters work by catching things, so they fill up. A loaded sediment filter cuts water pressure. A spent carbon filter stops helping taste and smell.
A reverse osmosis system has prefilters, a membrane and a final taste filter. Each wears at its own pace, based on your water and how much you drink.
We swap cartridges, sanitize the system when it makes sense, check every fitting and tell you when the next change is likely due.

Retesting your water
Water changes. City water can shift when a utility changes sources, and private wells shift with the seasons. Idaho DEQ has found nitrate levels rising in groundwater in parts of Ada and Canyon counties, and nobody tests a private well unless the owner does.
A retest compares today's numbers with your first report. If hardness changed, we reset the softener. If something new shows up, we explain it in plain language.
On city water, book a free water test at your home. On a well, we set up a certified lab test, and results take about a week.
Service for systems we did not install
We service any brand of water softener, including ones we did not install. If you are not sure what you have, send us a photo of the valve and the tank label, and we will tell you.
Request service
Tell us what system you have and what is going on. A real person reads every request and calls you back.
Maintenance questions
How often should a water softener be serviced?
Once a year works for most homes. Wells with iron sometimes need closer care, since iron can coat the resin. On systems we install, the yearly visit also keeps the limited lifetime warranty active. See what an annual visit covers.
What are the signs my softener needs attention?
Spots coming back on dishes and shower glass, soap that will not lather, a salt level that never drops, standing water high in the brine tank, or a valve that seems to run all the time. Any of these is worth a call.
What should I do if my softener is leaking?
Put the softener in bypass so water flows around it, then call us at (208) 860-4239. If you cannot find the bypass valve, we will walk you through it over the phone.
